There was something about two women starting a bear making company in England(online news paper), they are very in it seems.

Wonder if the bottom will now fall out of Charlie Bears :wink:with the new niche bears around

There are lots of bear makers in the UK, have been for years. Big manufacturers like Merrythought & Deans ( both been going almost as long as Steiff) , & a lot of individual people making what they call " artist bears" mainly one off handmade bears made in mohair. There are bear fairs all over the country though not as many as there were a few years ago.
There used to be a lot of specialist teddy bear shops, there still are some but not so many now.
Just one example http://teddybears.co.uk/our-shop/

I like teddy bears and was always buying them for my boys when they were little. But cannot watch the Charlie Bears shows with the stupid presenters cuddling, stroking and gushing, even talking in stupid voices and acting like complete and utter childish p*****s.

It's retarded imho. The presenters would probably lick them if it meant increased sales.

I reckon Charlie B is regressing.I don't know if someone has told him his childish teddy hand waving behaviour is appealing but to be honest it's put me off watching the show.Just saw him on the Rangemate show exhibiting the constant eating which appears to be a standing joke with everyone on Q like he's a b*****hungry teenager.Well he's a middle aged p***.

I don't mind the shows and the collectors aren't hurting anyone (probably). 80 year old Peggy called in just now; and I know we always joke about T callers over sharing about their personal tragedy, but if recently bereaved Peggy gains some comfort from her teddies then who am I to argue. Be nice to read something original on a CB thread.

I agree completely, Akimbo. What harm are collectors doing to deserve vitriol?
Anything that can bring comfort in a time of loneliness, unbearable loss or unhappiness is fine in my book.

that is excatly why i posted this as a upcoming TSV for people who are fans of the range & if it helps them then thats a good thing

Keep posting as many items and show times as you can Ian; I'm only interested in the things I'm interested in, IYKWIM. But there must be buyers for whatever QVC is trying to sell and having items to peruse means we have to talk ourselves out of buying :mysmilie_59:

Im laughing at the toilet humour as I am juvenile ...I've got Rhubarb and Custard ..I bought them with some money my dear late Uncle gave me ...really cute even though I don't really collect teddies ...( until if I'm lucky to be blessed with grandchildren ) and I'm so pleased I got them it wasn't gifted when he died, he just treated me bless him ..Makes a change from Jewellry etc ...for me personally I just cannot tolerate the presentation ...totally appreciate your info Supercoolwillow :mysmilie_59: thank you ...

Now that WOULD be an unusual collectable bear!! :mysmilie_13: Oh er, missus!

QUOTE=shopperholic;880302]Ahhh but that's just a rumour though, poor bear. :bear: :mysmilie_17:[/QUOTE]
