so I guess you are one of those people who have never had a weight problem. One of my so called best mates, has a problem with anyone over a size 12 and is always commenting on when I and an other friend put weight on, which is hurtful when you are trying your dammned hardest to cut down on food . We arent all the same, as you say fat is a huge problem in this country, so that must mean Kathy's figure is probably more normal that most
Well you guess wrong. It doesn't do to make presumptions about people you don't know. When my weight increased some years ago I chose to do something about it and I am happy to say that now at the age of 67 and 5' 4" tall I am a size 14 and don't have a face full of wrinkles either.

cathy taylor was on the morning show on friday and she looked absolutely gorgeous. she has really good bone structure and lovely skin.
i wear glasses as well and i do think that sometimes glasses can make you look a little older but when she takes them off she looks fab.
also kathy never lies about her size and says she is a size 16.
also she wears qvc fashion unlike some of the presenters that say how great it is but realy dont wear it.
she is like julian qiute down to earthand quite honest in their presentation.

Hi Bettyboo, You sound just perfect! xxxx

Thank you for this post, Catkins.

I hardly ever post on here, but I have lurked for years and I still read the threads evey day. This thread is ignorant imo and more than a little hurtful to Kathy. If QVC had a problem with her weight or presenting skills she wouldn't have been on ouir screens. I am an overweight and nervous person and I would hate to think that I am judged for that.

Exactly popsickle! IMO weight shouldn't factor into the conversation. I am naturally slim (no effort required , no gym, no eating rabbit food) but some people have a propensity to weight gain. That doesn't give anybody the right to pass comment or judgement. Kathy is lovely, looks great and comes across as genuine when presenting so what on earth has a few extra pounds got to do with anything? I can only think that for some slim women who are denying themselves food and working out religiously they resent the fact that some don't and are still attractive.

IMHO exercise is not just about looking slim, its about being healthy and prolonging your life and youth as much as possible, and making the best of your body's appearence. I can tell by looking at a person if they work out or if they don't work out and it is nothing to do with being very slim or a bigger build. As long as a person is happy with themselves thats the main thing.

I like kathy, I don't judge or think any less of anyone its up to the individual whether they are happy with themselves. but me personally IMHO would not be happy with myself if I had a few rolls hanging as I would not feel comfortable wearing a tight fitting top and not be able to get in any of my clothes in my wardrobe it would upset me personally.

Going to the gym, jogging and aerobics etc is unneccesary unless you lead a fairly sedentary lifestyle. I get plenty exercise walking 3 dogs, lifting and carrying heavy weights on a daily basis, gardening and running around with my grandson. I certainly don't look my age and feel as fit as I have ever done. This preoccupation with working out is relatively new and totally unneccessary unless you're sitting most of the day or enjoy it as a hobby. If you're active in your daily life and rarely sit down then like our grandmothers before us there should be no need for a gym membership.

I agree with you Dazzler that it's up to the individual how they feel about their size/shape and if you're happy with yourself then that's fine no matter what other people think. I hope I would never judge someone by their appearance, after all it's what's inside that counts, but for me personally I feel unhappy if I "let myself go" and don't make the best of myself.
I was a chubby size 14 when I married in my 20s (I'm only 5' 1" and even a few extra pounds tend to make me look huge).
I'm now 60 and a slim size 8/10, having lost the weight over the years through sensible eating and exercise but nothing to excess and I feel great!

Excellent post Fairynuff. You are so right it is whats inside that counts, and up to the individual.

You think just like me, its down to the individual, and how you personally feel.
I eat sensibly too and do have treats I just don't eat in excess and exercise regular not excessive, but enough to keep myself looking good as its very important to me. I have seen your picture and IMHO you do not look your age and you look fab as well as your face expresses a warm kind caring personality as well!

On that note I must get on with my fitness today as still have not done it ! Tomorrow is a rest day.
