Help Support ShoppingTelly:

I booked the day off work. I like to get things for xmas gifts during these shows... i just hope the offerings are better than last year.

Hmmm so QVC are having their show before the BCC Fashion Show has even happened!!! Used to have it same night and showed bits live, then it became following week or even later so they showed bits of what happened at the show but now they won't be able to show a thing as it is yet to happen!!! :wonder::confused:

I won`t be patronising them in any way. I have no faith in Q and don`t trust them after recent years events. I support breast cancer charities and others but I`ll either buy a badge, put money into a collection tin or sponsor my niece who regularly runs marathons in aid of various charities. QVC can go whistle for my support.

I'll probably watch, but I won't buy or donate via QVC - I will support directly myself.

I can say from personal experience that the Breast Cancer Care forum was an absolute godsend for me. Like joining this site to know you're not alone in watching and enjoying shopping telly, going on a forum where you knew others were going through or had gone through the shock of coming to terms with a diagnosis, or a step in the treatment. It just makes you feel so much less alone. Your loved ones are supportive, but unless they've been through something as shocking, it's really hard sometimes to explain things without them getting upset (which makes you feel worse). The humour and support was incredible, and invaluable... but my money goes straight to them, not via QVC.

Sorry but ill donate to BCC directly rather than through Q after the Crown incident and DF conning them i have no faith in Qvc's Charitable donations.

I'm the same I donate direct now. BCC was a great help to me 5 years ago when I had my first diagnosis and was in a foreign country getting treatment and again recently after my second diagnosis which was scarier. They do great work.all my loose change goes in a box and then gets sent when full. I also support my local cancer care who were brilliant taking me for hospital appointmentS. I used to look forward to the BCC show but with the last couple of bloomers qvc had I give it a miss.

DF will have it all bought for her Facebook mates anyway.:mysmilie_15:

Wonder which auction will go t*ts up this year?

Tell me more.....surely not!?? Why would you buy for Fbook pals anyway - we do live in a very strange world these days!! So glad I've got REAL FRIENDS around me :mysmilie_466: :mysmilie_852:

Despite it's claims, PETA names Benefit as one of the companies, which still employs animal testing. I no longer purchase the brand.

No mention of the proportion to go towards BCC and whether it's from the brand or QVC (or both).

No mention of how long the contribution to BCC will continue (until all stock sold or only until end of October - breast cancer awareness month).

I wonder if QVC will update these and any other items to indicate the level of contribution to the cause buying items will be? Probably not. Too much of a hostage to fortune.

It was always the price paid on the night excluding VAT.

The products are only one night, though the odd product will still show available the next day.

Each year the companies who give have dropped big time. Usually the same products each year from the brands. SBC Collagen Gel.

In the old days all the products were half price for the event. We used to close the forum to outsiders, members only as the item numbers came up. I bought a London Blue Topaz ring in silver for £12.50, and a Santa Maria Aquamarine 18ct white gold pendant £50 back then.

Judging by the prices of the two initial products in this thread the reduction is now down to less than 25%.

Last year's event was poor, for the first time in years didn't but a thing & I can't see this year being any better. They didn't seem to have enough items to sell & just dragged the ones they did have out to fill the time.
