You know you're a QVC addict when ...

You hear the football results, Crystal Palace have won 2-0 and you think "ooh, Julia will be pleased." :15:

    Lulu

I just howled out loud at this, thank you SO much!

Just about had it with QVC now.......!

Completely agree, it's the age-old advertising method: tell women they smell, their natural body hair is unsightly, having periods is something to be ashamed of and hide, "keep young and beautiful if you want to be loved." They do it with cleaning products too - "what if your dishwasher isn't...

    TSV Gem Day 30th September

My husband just saw the TSV and said, "Ah. A nugget of purest green." For the Lord Percy fans among us.

Overused Words/Phrases in the QVC Dictionary....

"Colourway" - um, wouldn't just "colour" do? "Fashion forward", "on trend", "you're good to go" - bleuuurghghh, stop pretending to be American. The other thing I've noticed is when they have a plus-size model on and they ALWAYS ask her what size she's wearing, as in: "and here we have...

    Seen it all now ..

I know what you mean, Spooky, seems a bit OTT. I didn't see the presentation but my sister bought me something similar called Handbag Hooker (!) a few years ago for a present. It's got a pretty crystal tag at one end and is nice and sturdy. The only bit I'm missing is a Life where I go out...

    Wayne Dyer TSV

I think it's a hugely useful tool. My cynicism about the high rate at which it is recommended kicks in, though, as it's far cheaper to send someone for a course of 6 CBT sessions than the open-ended 1:1 work with a psychologist which a lot of people actually need.

    Wayne Dyer TSV

I thought Tony Robbins was into NLP (neuro-linguistic programming), not CBT? NLP being a way of retraining your brain so that you have a different automatic response to, say, the word "exercise". CBT being a way to challenge and come up with new beliefs, e.g. from "I am worthless" to "I am...

    What can you see ?

Only a CD set I bought years ago which plays sooooothing natural sounds of waves and rainforest birds. I am wearing Decleor Hydra Floral from the recent TSV though. Ooh, and the bunnies' favourite, the Furminator.

How long have you been watching QVC?

Blimey, is that how they used to sell Northern Nights??

    Catherine Huntley

I like Catherine a lot, she seems to get the juice out of life if you read her blog. She has a great voice, would be super on the radio too.

    How big is you stockpile????

I've been using up my stockpile all year. The only things I've got left unopened are a few soaps and some body lotion. I have about a dozen minis from LE, Gatineau etc which I'm using up too, but that's it. My aim is to have one of everything on the go and just to buy a replacement when I...

What presenters are good and easy listening for you

I think Dale's a really good interviewer when he has a guest on. He always seems really prepared and doesn't try to compete with them or show off his knowledge, he just asks great questions (am thinking the African Lion Tamer chap or whatever he is, Jungle Gem Man). He was fab with Joan Rivers...

    Gatineau TSV - 09/09/09

Donna's right, Gatineau is owned by Revlon, along with other brands like Almay, Mitchum and Ultima II. Andrew Bagley has a business supplying salons with beauty products, he's the distributor for Gatineau in the UK, I guess. I have also found it hard to buy Gatineau in France even in...

Visit to Shrewsbury...and an encounter with a much loved old friend

Oh, it's a beauty isn't it? Michele Hope's finest hour. I can't remember who it was that spotted it in Clearance but I do remember a thread about it and the particularly fetching picture that was on the website where it was modelled with a pair of corned beef calves and some fetching chunky...

Visit to Shrewsbury...and an encounter with a much loved old friend

I was in Shropshire last week and went to Shrewsbury one afternoon - such a gorgeous town, really lovely place. As I was there, I thought it would be rude not to seek out the QVC shop out of curiosity. Couldn't believe one of the first items I saw. Who remembers this old friend from Clearance...

Which of the auction channels is it you work for again? :tongue2:

do you watch other shopping channels - why?/why not?

Never watched any other shopping channel for more than about 20 seconds as they are so tacky, cheap, naff and the presenters are so chavvy. (Sorry, utterly snobby, I know.) The auction channels are beyond belief, how can anyone believe it's not fixed or managed in some way? I am amazed we...
