What the heck does Kim look like this evening???

Just watching her on with Marv. Marv has chosen a really flattering colour to wear. Kim is dressed in leopard leggings and top. I thought the woman was supposed to wear the clothes, not the other way around?

I'm sorry, Kim... I thought the TSV was pretty grim, but you've hit the jackpot this evening.
If she did not have the boots on, I would have thought she was ready for bed:mysmilie_17:

I wrote on another thread about longer tops doing nothing but make you bigger. Ahem, case in point is Margerine in the coral top pulled down over her thighs. Neither Kim nor Marg look an object of desire, except in a Safarai park - as lunch !

Just seen the video of Marv - goodness she looks terrible and clothes wise she is normally not too bad.

I see she is launching tonight's T S V - will be interested to see how it looks on her shape.

There is no point in me judging it by the models or Pipa as I am not remotely their shape.

I am having to watch the 6 pm hour, as I am still mulling over Kim's comment in the previous show, that a leggings and tunic and boots combo was 'good for wearing to a museum" The concept of museum fashion has completely passed me by. I must find out what other places there are for which I need to be suitably dressed.

:mysmilie_17: gosh, that is funny!!Maybe she was hinting that they are so old fashioned

Suppose for a museum visit you could dress like Cleopatra? Or Queen Victoria? Or Jack the Ripper? Don't we all dress the part when we go to a museum? Honestly, what are they on, that they make these inane comments without explaining what they are prattling on about? First thing that comes into their (air)head? :mysmilie_516:

For some reason, Kim seems to be nervous this visit, she giggles a lot and makes some silly sounds and gasps when she is nervous.
She was doing really good for some time, not much of the nervous giggles, but she is back to the giggles and gasps etc this visit.
I do admire Kim's ability of remembering the item numbers, descriptions, colours and the sizes(and that not just of the items on show).
Some of her items are are very easy to care for and I do have some of her clothes.
Lately they have become too expensive for what they are. She has a large number of customers of all ages. She is one of the better guests, not arrogant like some.
I think she is a nice person also. I have also found that she has been wearing some of her clothes that do nothing for her.

You can't fault her for commitment to her brand.im not into slinky but I feel quite relieved when I see some plain slinky items. Some respite from the patterns.

Well at least it's a change from the usual chestnuts of garden party, BBQ, Alton Towers, Xmas drinks with neighbours.

At least she didn't suggest as bridesmaid gifts :mysmilie_11:

Hands up anyone on here who ACTUALLY goes to garden parties ! I've never been near one on my life ; I avoid weddings like the plague (groundhog day personified), christenings are rarer than hen's teeth, bar-b-q's are a no no (hate eating outside), dinner parties - no one can afford them.

Ok, I do DO cruises, but wouldn't take Kimmy with me, EVER, as there are thousands of others who really DO !! I've been a Kimmy spotter for years, and you really don't want me to describe how they look on board ship.

I've been to a few garden parties in my time but I certainly didn't nor wouldn't have worn anything I've ever seen on QVC ;) But I did go to a posh university and then used to sing in an ensemble which got invited to such things so that's my excuse!

But what I want to know is how no one can afford dinner parties (needn't be expensive nor fancy) but they can and do afford to go on cruises?! Which are extortionate and would be my personal idea of hell (not that I can afford one anyway!)?! Maybe people book them just so that they have a platform for all of their qvc fashions!

A garden party in my neck of the woods is just a gathering of friends /relatives with possibly a barbecue .We don't have any grand organised events. Maybe they mean an invite to Buck Palace.Show off your QVC fashions there.

In favour of Kim, I must say that the two times I have been invited to sit at the Captain's table, (different ships, different Captains, I have not lost my pulling power with advanced age) I have been dressed from head to foot in Kim's never-crease-people-will-say-have-you-lost-weight-ironing-what's-that-don't-say-coulda-woulda-shouda clothes.

It's either that, Brissles and TLLou, or starkers, or Artscape. What's the least worst option?

I don't get it?!

I don't get it?!

I was just enjoying your comment, Totally Loopy Lou, about the horrors of cruises. I get that reaction from a lot of people, that it's their idea of hell. I wish I could treat you to a cruise. It would be lovely to afford to take nice people who are sceptical of the benefits. If one avoids all the American lines and screaming kids, there are lots of small ships which go to interesting places for archaeology. And two years ago I was pushed around the snow above the Arctic Circle in a wheelchair.

The reason I like Kim is that her clothes are wonderful to pack, you really can look smart without an iron. And the plain colours are easy to accessorise with fancy scarves and jackets. If only she had stuck to what she was good at. The thin fabric floral multi abstract print horrors she makes now I wouldn't be seen dead in.

And there's me, thinking I looked really glamorous. when Brissles says she can spot a Kim wearer and we look awful. Oh dear, it's time I took a good hard look in a mirror, I may well look a fright.

That's why I enjoy this forum. It helps me shake up my ideas about what I wear and what products I put on my face and use around the house and in the garden.

I think several years ago QVC fashions were better and more suitable to taking on a cruise.I know this because I was planning to go on a cruise with a friend and not being one to enjoy dressing up I didnt want to spend a fortune. I looked to get dresses reasonably priced that I could use and not worry about lack of use.

.There were several Lenny long dresses ,Kim had some lovely prints back then and there were a few Tiana B long dresses. The cruise didnt happen and I never did purchase the dresses, but I certainly would have.

Now I think things have moved on and not in a good way.

I was in M&S yesterday and noticed some horrible prints there too and a lot of polyester ,so maybe it isn't just a Q thing.

Cruises are lovely adult ships best but we have been on family ships as well but NOT in school holidays. As for being extortionate it is less than two weeks in Greece for half board from our local airport. The air fare alone was £600 pounds each.

Prices have crept up for Kim and Co and you can find very similar styles and prints in markets and discount stores local to me. I haven't bought Kim's things for a couple of years .I was wearing one of her tops in the "enchanted" print recently ,though quite a large print its muted in colour .Its still wearable ,but I don't see any of her recent prints tempting me.

I think prices creep up for all brands, especially as they become more popular. Skechers are now a lot pricier than when they originally started; the same could be said for Kipling too

Ah bless you! I thought you were being sarcastic and I'd said something deeply offensive ;)

I would love to come on a cruise with you :)
I'm housebound and to think of you going round the world and seeing such sights in a wheelchair is so encouraging!
I'm genuinely glad for you and others who can afford and enjoy cruises. And I would welcome having my misconceptions put straight! I think I do have an image of being trapped with crowds of loud Americans who never leave the casino ;)

As for Kimmy, well I'm sure you look lovely. Some of her clothes seem to have got worse but if you're self aware enough to be worried about how you look, then I think you will know you don't look a horror...!

My dear friend, the first anniversary of whose death is today, and who introduced me to QVC and adored many of Kim's range over many years. She was a classy lady and at her final family gathering, she wore a beautiful Kim cowl neck, meadow floral, heavy draped top with a plain skirt and she looked lovely... RIP.

As somebody said on theTSV thread, this visit some of the items didnt even look good on the models. I have Kim items which I still wear but haven't bought anything for a couple of years .

Really sorry to hear about your friend TLL, she obviously meant a lot to .

Totally Loopy Lou, what a sad day it must be for you today, remembering someone who was such a lovely friend. My kindest thoughts are with you, as you think of some of the lovely times you spent with her.
