Into compost is there no pies he does not have a finger in,i wonder if he will compare it with a leading brand.

Sorry, but I don't understand why you think this is wrong or surprising. This is his business, his livelihood, whether people here like him or not, who can blame the man for pursuing his profession? Other people would have taken advantage of the exposure to bring out a lot more of their own products I reckon.

Because there is no proof they are better than any other leading product and vastly more expensive if you can't see that fine that's up to you.

I can see the appeal of having compost delivered. It's really heavy. My local garden centre provides muscle to put the stuff in my car but I need to lug it when I get home.

Its what's in the compost that matters not the brand name.

Nevertheless I can't see me buying it from QVC. Be a right bugger to return a half used bag now I think about it. And a 30 day MBG is useless. You won't know til well into the growing season if its any good.

My local gardening centre charges £5 deliv. no matter what amount you order and puts it all at the back of my garage as requested (I mostly buy bark chips in bulk). Fab service.

RJ's Flower Power has not received favourable reviews on here or plug plants. Shop local I say and support independent suppliers, I am fussy and like to choose my own plants for balance and leaf health.

I love my local garden centres. I have four within a short drive. One Wyevale, two independents and one Garden Centre Group. The two independents are fantastic for plants. Excellent quality and good prices. The chains are cheaper for things like compost and tools.

I mainly frequent the two independents and one of the chains. The chain I prefer has a loyalty card and the points really add up. One of the independents had a loyalty card too.

I also visit two herb nursery specialists. As I'm a huge fan of herbs. We usually go on a sunny Saturday and enjoy lunch in the cafe. God I sound like my dad.

The only gardening product I have ever bought from QVC is that weed whacker thing. As a gift for my dad. He's got a huge garden and he finds it really good. I don't think it's as good as the other more modern looking one on the market but it made a lovely gift. It's really well made and my dad loves proper wooden tools.

I am one that will not be rushing to buy RJ's products again, I bought his spiel about Lawn Magic and got two lots of it... one for me and one for a friend and it did absolutely nothing for either of our lawns...Did I send it back ...no, but I will not be ordering anything from him again....

Totally agree with you about Lawn magic, did nothing for the lawn at all and was outside the 30 days so couldnt send it back. What annoys me about RJ he raved about the compost QVC Bullrush that they started selling last year and now hes made his own, so is this just a copy of that compost?

What annoys me is if as his compost is as good as he claims why not make sure it is at price that is on a par with branded compost instead of over £18 a bag of course qvc know people will by it even if it was £20.

Not a gardener, so no idea if RJ's stuff is any good or not, nor do I care frankly. Just felt your "fingers in the pie" comment wasn't fair when all he's doing is pursuing his living. Bit like saying Boots shouldn't bring out own brand stuff because it's not always as good as other brands. RJ has every right to bring out stuff and sell it as long as what he says about it is legal, and is up to gardeners to decide whether to buy it. Just my opinion.

I cant understand why some gardening shows have THREE presenters ! The qvc regular, RJ and A N Other who is demonstrating yet ANOTHER product - it makes old RJ look like Looby Lu in the middle of Andy Pandy and Teddy !!!!!
