Apparently AA Tanzanite's so rare that it hasn't been in clearance before :mysmilie_15:

(Amazingly they had no trouble selling a ring though a bit more trouble selling earrings.)

There's now "Premium Grade" Tanzanite (not even AA Battery Grade) on Bid TV, and it's "Fragmented Stock", presumably because what's left has been hit with a hammer, breaking it into tiny pieces :tongue:

They managed to sell a pendant very quickly with 95 callers missing out (apparently), and the "big boss" has given permission to include this in clearance, only the second time this has ever happened; the last being several years ago. Allegedly.

They sold something with AA grade later on (they're not selling Tanzanite currently), but they also sold a bracelet which just had 18 carat's worth of Tanzanite. (Not even "Premium Grade"!)

Next week they could be reduced to selling AA grade Tanzanite Dust, hand-scraped from Mount Kilimanjaro by Andy Hodgson and his less-than-merry band of <del>slaves</del> dwarves :smile:

Wow: tanzanite is so rare and so sought after that Bid can consistently put it in clearance (despite what Peter "The Voice of Reason" Simon says)?

That's such a neat trick, but then maybe people will only want the bigger stones once the mine finally closes (in 3,000 year's time). Not the smaller, point-sized ones that Bid are doing in their clusters?
