The man and his wares disgusts me. So interesting to know he's got his own FB page!!

I see there's a photo of Tova on FB with him, she's wearing a full length real chinchilla coat.

To make one fur coat you must kill at least fifty-five wild mink, thirty-five ranched mink, forty sables, eleven lynx, eighteen red foxes, eleven silver foxes, one hundred chinchillas, thirty rex rabbits, nine beavers, thirty muskrats, fifteen bobcats, twenty-five skunks, fourteen otters, one hundred twenty-five ermines, thirty possums, one hundred squirrels, or twenty-seven raccoons.

I remember many many years ago when i was a child, perhaps very early teens going with my Nan to visit a "posh aunt". She had real fur coats...i think back then they were perhaps more "accepted". I remember feeling the coats (i forget the fur type) and thinking how nice they felt, but how much nicer they would have felt on the living animal.

TSV coat is very much the stereotypical 'fur coat and no knickers'. How many people do you see actually wearing a coat like that, except maybe drag queens.

the models look very hungry. it makes me sad that women have to go through the indignity of starvation to earn a living modelling.

i have tried to like dennis basso coats have bought 4 in all but there always seems to be something not quite right with them so eventually send them back. i find centigrade much better quality imo.

The last Centigrade Coat was a disappointment, it has put me off ordering again.

i tend to buy the shearling type coats not the down ones. you have to pay big bucks for down coats they have to be very well made or they just dont cut it.

gap are excellent but pricey. my daughter has had hers for 10 years and my nike down coat is the most lux down coat for quality/fit and warmth. but then it is not £45 pounds.

Anorexic models?

Just watched the link and was shocked, not by Basso or his fashion, but by some of the models' legs. I'm not too bothered one way or the other about Basso, especially as what he brings to qvc is quite safe and quite stylish, but using anorexic catwalk models really should be banned. Not good, not good at all.

Check out the gorgeous Karen ( NOT!), her legs are hideous and skinny, lots love her , but she looks like a horse , and her over the top modelling is so hilarious:mysmilie_483:........

Basso Profundo and his disgusting trade should be consigned to the bowels of hell where such barbarism belongs. How anyone can wear a fur coat knowing the suffering the animal has gone through is beyond me. And before anyone accuses me of hypocrisy, I don't eat or wear any animal products, so I'm not just standing up for beautiful furry creatures whilst not giving a damn about other sentient beings on the planet.
If real fur is so acceptable, how come they never chat about the gravel voiced git's wider trade? If they thought for one minute that it would be okay to talk about celebrities wearing his real fur garments, they would do so, since they'll witter on about any celebrity endorsed item in the hope that the viewers will be so dazzled and impressed that they'll jump to the phones.

I really am not into fur but even if I were Mr Basso specialises in skins that actually make me feel very sick at the thought of how they were harvested. It is possible to be a little more ethical and still produce a garment that would meet Burlz approval. Broadtail lamb is a particular speciality of his, a grotesque concept in our so called enlightened age.
