Help Support ShoppingTelly:

Maybe he should try a bit of honesty. You know like "If your a lady who likes to sweat a lot then this Kim & Co is for you. Make sure to squeeze your bunions into a little pump to complete the whole look" or "If you like to think you've paid over the odds for a cardi then rock this one ladies!" No? Just a thought:4:

I spose it's better than 'fat birds'.:11:
I really don't mind that he refers to older women ( like me) as 'of a certain age'. It must be a minefield trying not to upset everybody/anybody on a shopping channel.
I rather like Glen, meself. Dunno why. Maybe it's a deep admiration for trying to make half the tat he sells sound exciting.

I have no problem with being referred to as a woman of a certain age, much better than being called middle-aged or menopausal!! I also prefer to think of myself as carrying a little weight around my tummy than being fat. If people dislike him, his appearance and his words so much then don't watch him.

I tend to avoid him at all costs but unfortunately, sometimes I can be enjoying a Birkenstock hour where usually there is a guest presenter and he turns up standing next to the models, pointing at their feet or rolling their trouser legs up! Perhaps he's not invited and just sneaks into the studio while nobody's looking :D

He had white ones on tonight, maybe he has a pair of every colour!!:6:

It's the no socks thing that looks worse in my opinion. So dated and I thought he was always promoting the "now" look!

Anyone who dresses as badly as he does surely can't be regarded as a fashion "expert" can they?!:11:

Liken prunes to a nice firm YOUNG juicy plum................................ I rest my case Mrs J :wet: :wet:
I used to think Glen was a bit of a plum, no pun intended.:32: But now I'm starting to find him quite endearing. Strange I know, but I think it's because he says stuff like 'rock the cardi', and he has questionable fashion sense.<a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZSfox000%2526i%253D36%252F36%255F11%255F6%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_6.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D36%252F36_11_6%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a>

Yes, we do have to thank him for 'rock the cardi', a modern classic :D And we should get many more "Glen-isms" tomorrow - they won't be able to keep him out of QVC Towers with a Birkenstock TSV happening.

I find Glens "Glen-isms" quite funny, I think its because he thinks they're so on trend.:1:

He probably hasn't left QVC Towers, he might be camping out in his dressing room. Waiting in anticipation to turn up on the Birkenstock hours.:32:

Topaz the phrase he uses is not "a woman of certain age" it is "a woman of age" - meaning older woman. Why he doesn't say that I don't know. It is rather old fashioned. I think though, that the points people have raised, have been very valid in criticism, but it is also very nice that people like him enough to defend him. And that is life after all? We all are different and although I think he has a limited vocabulary, and perhaps doesn't have enough superlatives under his belt, I can see he is a nice guy who is addicted to cardigans and genuinely I am glad he is liked. It is better to be cheerfully intolerant and to recognise that other people might not always think you are right. So I am glad he has fans.

You're right, of course, ringtree. I can't sit through a whole hour of Glen, he waffles too much but he's not offensive. I hope you appreciate that as far as the man and his cardis goes, it's just gentle "ribbing" :4:

Alongside the quote "woman of age", I find it funny when the beauty presenters say this would suit a"woman of colour". It always makes me think the woman in question is mauve or red or skybluepink

and all of his women of age fans wearing a little trouser, a little white t-shirt and a little pump (just one!), could be his cheerleader backing group every time he comes on rapping "rock that cardi" behind the model!
