Saw craig demonstrating the new Nintendo DSI XL and decided that the easy pays would make it an affordable option even though it was no bargain. One of the main selling points was the fact that Craig kept saying imagine getting this on the day of the launch.
I waited in all day Friday (the day of the launch) and nothing. Waited in until Saturday lunchtime, nothing.
I then phoned QVC customer services and was told it was out with a courier and delivery will be in 5 - 7 working days. When I questioned the statement made by Craig in relation to receiving the product on launch day I was told aggressively that he said on or around launch day. Having paid the best part of £7 for delivery I feel this is a terrible way of treating a customer and will be refusing delivery whenever it turns up.
Asda direct charging £135 for basic console + £5 delivery with stock available from 10th March.
I am new to this type of shopping having only ever used amazon before, does QVC usually treat its customers with this kind of contempt.

Welcome to the forum but what a shame QVC have let down yet another customer.

Unfortunatly at times , Yes

I pre-ordered 1 from Amazon & its not arrived yet even though it was despatched on Thursday.

I pre-ordered from Game online and it arrived a day early. For things like this, always better to stick with a specialist retailer I think.

I order lots of x-box games on pre-release for my son and Game nearly always deliver the day before release so we tend to stick to them now. Amazon are sometimes a couple of days late.

Also get 'Game' points and quidco so can get a good deal with them.

welcome Richy!
Just a note to say make you you get something to say you refused delivery.QVC are a nightmare when things get lost etc...and its all waiting around for letters to sign going backwards and forwards :(

However, they did keep banging on about 'Imagine playing this on launch day' etc. Even thpugh the descritpion said 'on or after launch day' the way they sold it verbally could easily lead people to expect it on the day of launch.

Glad you are getting yours today but that's still 3 days after launch.

Had a card through the door today (Monday) timed at 1600 unfortunatley on school run so couldn't refuse delivery. Went on DX website and tried to cancel got nowhere so rebooked delivery for Saturday.
About 10 minutes later lady on the phone from DX explaining they do deliver on a Saturdays but not for QVC as they have opted for the cheapest package that excludes Saturdays.
I requested that they return the packet to QVC as it was no longer required. Was told they would hold the item for 28 days before sending it back unless QVC emailed them asking DX to return it.
Back on the phone to QVC spoke to a lovely girl who lost the plot after giving her name but was kind enough to tranfer me to another lady who listened politely to my situation and fired an e mail off whilst I was on the line and informed me I would get a refund within the next 7-14 days.
What a marathon!! Once bitten twice shy.
I did use idealworld for a while and there courier lobbed everything over my 7 foot hedge and popped a note through the door I was terrified of ordering anything heavy in case he killed the dog.

glad its all been sorted out but i wouldnt let it put you off QVC for life. there are somthings that i woudnt dream of buying off them but they are dead handy for soem bits.
i hope you like the DSI XL when you get one. sadly my husband loves his (my chances of mooching it are getting slimmer by the day lol)

If you want something in a hurry it's best to go somewhere else. Guaranteed the item will not arrive until after the date you want be it Mother's day, Valentine's day etc. If QVC were that interested in getting it to you on time there are postal options available which would ensure delivery and cover the cost if it was not delivered. OK slightly more expensive, but with their buying power I am sure they can make a deal with Royal Mail!!??! :taphead:

No, seriously the amount they charge for postage some of the items can be sent next day guaranteed delivery for a pound or two more and customer satisfaction will probably go shooting up too.

By the way Welcome Richy.
