Gemporia still sinking

I’m still waiting on a refund. They have not acknowledged. I have tracked and the6 have received. They confirmed I would get an email and still nothing. Shoddy.

Angeline on, sneering about silver chains that would break if you sneezed. That's after pushing a huge lump of dyed resin with a legally-compliant amount of ruby, set in 1.85g of gold (and that's average across the sizes!).

(And don't get me started on her comparing real rubies to Gemporia's Malagasy "ruby".)
I caught about fifteen minutes of her Ruby Show yesterday. Still not a single mention during the show that these fabulous rubies are all fissure filled. Just the constant stressing that they are Malagassi rubies. TBH does that really mean anything? I’d much rather they say ‘These are a great size and colour. and we’ve filled them with liquid glass for stability’. How hard could that be?

I actually sent a message saying that I'd noted how all the rubies were filled and asked 'is this the norm for rubies'. Needless to say my message wasn't shown nor was it addressed in any way. I did find it incredibly annoying how she kept referring to that one fabulous ruby which cost millions and comparing theirs with it. I'll admit colour wise it was very close but that's where the comparison stopped.

You can't make a dent with Angeline, Lynn and Ellis they know best! They are totally without principles! I never watched Ideal World but judging by the comments on here I doubt there is little difference between the presenters. Imo. I think who sickens me most is Steve Bennent.

Ellis was a presenter on IW for years until she came back from a period of sickness, fell out with management, and then abruptly disappeared from the channel.

Then she was on TJC for a couple of years, where she apparently loved everyone and everything there, before jumping ship to Gemporia.

I think who sickens me most is Steve Bennent.

Steve is fine in my opinion, until he gets bored and moves on to his latest business venture. Although Gemporia were never totally honest and transparent (none of the shopping channels are), they did have more morals than they do currently.

For example, Lynn is really pushing the healing nonsense these days - to the point where she's quoting supposed healing properties as fact, rather than 'it is said that....." or "many believe that.......". Steve used to distance himself from all of this nonsense - stating that it was unproven and it was up to individuals whether they chose to believe in it or not.

Price pledges were honoured - whereas these days, there are endless 'sales' and 'clearance hours' that prevent price pledges from being claimed.

Steve also used to take on board peoples feedback too - whereas these days, they just carry on regardless, ignore complaints, and then wonder why they're struggling.

The problems began when he started Primal and transferred Gemporia from a family business to an employee-owned business, then got Colin Wagstaffe in to run the business, and Jade Troth and Jade Thompson seemed to have far too much influence too.

Although Steve announced he was coming back in March, it was soon mentioned on Facebook and other places such as this forum that Jake Thompson had been put in control of running the business.

Personally, I find Jade Thompson to be a bit of a Del Boy character. He's been one of the worst culprits for spouting out ludicrous claims over the years - and I wouldn't trust anything he says. If he's running the company, then I can't see morals being one of the key areas to improve upon.

I'm not sure why Steve gives unsuitable people the role of managing his businesses. Colin Wagstaffe's history can be found online - and he's never actually owned a business himself it seems, and he seems to have failed at many places his worked. He never seems to be at a company for more than three or four years before he moves on / gets pushed out.

As for Jade Thompson - his career started at Little Chef, to working in the Warehouse at Gemporia, to working his way through the departments there. His qualifications are nothing out of the ordinary, and it appears that he's got to where he is simply through being married into the Bennett family (he's married to Steve's daughter).

Asking people that have been in the right place at the right time to run a multi-million pound business, rather than people that actually have experience in owning or running and growing companies is asking for trouble.

Steve may have his flaws - but there's no doubt that Steve and his team know how to start, run and grow a business. His history with previous businesses and Gemporia of old are evidence of that. Wagstaffe and Jade Thompson, based on the evidence available online, are not anywhere near that calibre.

Personally, I wouldn't trust Colin or Jade Thompson to run a tap in my house - let alone a multi-million pound business. They make Del Boy and Rodney look competent at running a business.

That’s typical of Gemporia really. They will stress the importance of unenhanced untreated stones when it suits, and on the rare occasions that they respond to a question about treatments, it’s dismissed as ‘Industry Standard’. I’ve messaged in on a Visage show in the early days regarding testing on animals and got no response from Katie, but they had time to show lots of other ‘Oh Katie, you’ve changed my life’ messages which came in after I sent mine. I emailed the CS department and was told it was cruelty free. But they have not opted to pay to use the Leaping Bunny logo, or have their suppliers checked by PETA. So that speaks volumes for the rest of the business.

I didn't know she had been On Ideal World I saw her on TJC then she appeared on Gems. She appears to think she is a mega star with her singing, and constantly referring to her showbiz days. How many years ago was that? Her insincerity appears more since she has found this new lease of life. Mind boggling! Making it more galling are the 2 ladies singing her praises, her, being so honest and genuine. Am I missing something here? Is it me? I find her totally false.

On a different note does anyone know why I'm plagued with adverts now? And how to get rid of them. Would appreciate it.

They are selling their museum piece of morganite this evening. If that's not another sign they're strapped for cash I don't know what is.

Yes, I've seen that giant morganite before, its very nice, but what would you do with it? Not like you could put it in a pendant lol!

I knew her from IW and used to enjoy watching her and the lovely Loen. I never saw her on TJC, I didn't know she fell out with IW though. I'm wondering if she's going to stay. She has cut out Fridays, but she doesn't seem as though her heart is in it anymore - I can't say I blame her cleaning marmite off rings for a living and she hardly ever promises us with every fibre of her being anymore either!

I strongly suspect that she ran out of moral fibre a few years back

I used to enjoy watching Ellis. I thought she had a positive attitude and was informative.I now find her patronising and always fishing for compliments similar to chuntley. The times I heard that she was 60, or putting on weight becomes tedious. There is also a smugness about her now. Sadly the trust has gone and if I do watch I turn the sound off.

That's been on air a number of times - but the price is ludicrous. It's needs to be sold at a specialist auction - not on Gems TV or Gem Collector in the hope that someone has tens of thousands of pounds in their bank to spend on an impulse buy.

As has been mentioned a few times, all Gemporia seems to be selling these days is Jade (never ending),beads, nuggets, hours and hours of primal and CBD. Yesterday Ellis was doing a homeware bundle - bargain she said at under £20 (19.99) and, from what I saw, was obviously just stuff they couldn't shift on previous, very old shows and by old I mean going back to last year at least. In that old tat was the 'wash your worries away' soap dispenser. They must have a shed load of those 'cos Hattie was selling them on her show later that evening as a stand alone item.

Everything seems to be in clearance. You never used to see many Lorique pieces but they appear on the wheel all the time now as well as the collectors showcase that they do.

Along with the 'mega sale Monday' and the flash sales that are popping up everywhere I'd like to think that they really are clearing the shelves for something spectacular for their birthday, which is now just over a month away, but could the birthday surprise be that they're closing down!!!

It really does seem like the ship is still sinking unless the tugs get there just in time for their birthday.
Just switched on a moment ago, more flipping jade with mr troth

I do believe they are having serious money problems. Many of the items they bring to air now you can buy for less anywhere! The rings and such are really poor quality with the minimum of gold. I watched today as they sold tumbled stone bracelets for £10 each each one of course was a bargain and should not be missed! The rubies were either filled or coloured. I will be sorry to see them go I have been a customer since the start but I no longer trust them with my money! I have had to return a few items of late due to poor quality and the worry of my being refunded does not warrant me spending with them again.

Jade Troth is singing the praises of irradiated blue diamonds now and they are apparently the rarest blue irradiated diamonds in the world. At least he mentioned it I suppose. And so what if they’re the rarest etc? Still just treated gems, far from natural. I’m sure some of the items will be lovely but they’re showing a nice ring now with lovely diamonds and pink sapphire but for me the lousy quality white diamonds ruin the whole look.I do get that jewellery is very personal taste for everyone though and many will love it.
