It’s quite crafty, to be honest.

To label as ‘Swiss Movement’, the movement must have undergone technical development in Switzerland, be inspected by the manufacturer in Switzerland and at least 60% of the manufacturing costs be generated in Switzerland).
Now, remember that labour costs in Switzerland are very high, especially compared to China, where the rest of the assembly often takes place, so that 60% might well just involve casing the watch and pressing the hands on.
Also: Besides the "Swiss made" requirements, the indication «Swiss movement» may be placed on watches that contain a Swiss movement. The word «movement» must be written in full and must be of the same typeface, size and colour as the designation.

Not sure some of the watches I've seen on TJC/IW adhere to this; seen Movem't or other abbreviation sometimes.

suspect the reason their "long Swiss heritage" is quite vague is because they don't actually have one.

The name was trademarked in the UK in 2020 by Alexander Bell of West Byfleet, Surrey. It was registered in the EU in 2022. The company Christophe Duchamp Ltd has one director, Eleanor Rachel Earle Marsh of Woking and was formed in October 2020. The business is registered under "Retail sale of watches and jewellery in specialised stores". This is all from the Companies House website and the TMView trademark database.

There's been a few changes to the set up at Duchamp as of late 2023.

Originally Eleanor Marsh was the sole Director, she also had 80% of shares with the other 20% belonging to an Arne Decaester.

There is now two directors, Eleanor Marsh has been joined by Oliver Marsh, also Eleanors 80% shareholding has been split equally with Oliver Marsh, and a small amount to a Nina Marsh.

Both Arne & Oliver were directors at BrandLogic Europe ltd, although Oliver resigned when he became director of Duchamp.

Arne Decaester seems to be involved/features a lot in the promotion and marketing of Christophe Duchamp watches.

Lovely picture of a Duchamp watch on the Brandlogic website.

Last Thursday I posted something about 'Muriel' probably buying something, and the fact that 'she' was only name checked by Peter.

Yesterday 'she' was back on the Muriel thread. Claiming that she is real.

Reading 'her' posts, she says how she likes Peter, how funny he is. And that we should all buy lots from them as they feed children and its a great cause🤔

Next time he namechecks Maud or Gladys we should make a big thing of it and see if they suddenly come on here too.

I've not seen sight nor sound of him for about a week now. Life is good.

The Muriel here is probably one of their youths from the Gallery Gimp Room. Didn't Paz say Pete didn't do social media?
I didn't take anything Paz said at face value but I could believe the social media comment. But being the megastar that Peter is he could easily get someone to do it for him. Cos we'd never believe it was him would we!🤣
