You love your candles don't you :eek:)

Do we presume this will be the Christmas one? I'm a huge fan of cinnamon stick and treat myself to a large jar to burn throughout December until it's gone.
 
yep hands up I do love my candles lol. I don't like spicy scents though as they give me a headache so Christmas ones are usually a no go for me. I also hope the TSV isn't one of the naff tart burners with moving trains or something. Any set that I could divide up for chrissie pressies would be great. Hope you are well Tinkerbelle xx

If they are this year's 'holiday' fragrances, I am glad to report that there appear to be quite a few that don't have cinnamon in them! I get a wheezy asthma attack with many of those that do - like Home Sweet Home and Cinnamon Stick and so on. This year we have Cranberry Ice, Sugared Apple, Snow in Love and Apple and Pine-needle. I have no idea whether they will be in the TSV - probably more likely it'll be some mix of tarts or votives of something like that.
 
I've sniffed Snow in Love but I can't say I really remember what it was like. Other than it certainly wasn't spicy. A bit like Christmas Rose or Cherries on Snow. Not obviously christmassy.

I certainly don't want a funny old tart burner. Nor do I want a dozen samplers.
 
Christmas time is the time when I burn my candles most. I have a new YC candle tray and topper from the US that I use in my hall, a YC tart burner on my mantlepiece shaped like a snowman with his arms outstretched, a wreath with tealight holders in it that I inherited from my mother in law (I sit a medium jar in the middle of this) and some winter votive holders. Last time I was in the US I bought quite a few large jars and could do with QVC now selling a set that includes a large jar, medium jar and tealights (bought the album of samplers in the Jan sales at my local outlet and am pretty sure I have some tarts stashed away as well).
 
I smelt the Christmassy scents yesterday in my local YC store. And I was majorly disappointed, not only did the store have all of last years christmas scents, Cherries on Snow etc etc they had all of this years. Didn't buy anything!! they were either yucky spicy migraine material (for me!) or very very feint. Sugared Apple had virtually no smell at all and at £20 for a large jar - err no thank you!! And last years Cherries on Snow smelts exactly the same as the standard range Black Cherry one and this is currently 25% in all formats as it is Fragrance of The Month. I went in looking for Halloween goodies but they hadnt come in yet so I left disappointed. But that's shops for you, christmas stuff by the bucketful! Halloween is first guys, come on get your act together.
 
I've heard that the TSV is christmassy stuff - whether that means an accessory pack (burners etc) or standard christmas candles I have no idea - but if its just a candle selection then I will be giving this a total miss :eek:(

I was in Boots and Sainsbury's yesterday and saw that the Christmas aisles were already open although in Boots it was still being stocked when I went in. I noticed in Sainsbury's that there was just one stand selling Halloween accessoires (headbands, earrings, that sort of thing). Maybe it won't be sold as our tradition this year?

Which has reminded me that I have a Haloween tart burner as well that I should get out now. Wonder if I'll be able to find any Witches Brew tarts anywhere?
 
Why am I not too hopeful that the tsv will be a set of three large jar candles? These are the ones I burn continuously, not the sampler candles. Even with the expensive p+p - three of the large candles are quite heavy, so the rate is not unreasonable - they are working out a lot cheaper than at our local stores which sell YC. My favourite set from QVC is the pink dragonfruit/fruit fusion/wild passionfruit. I've just finished them and have started on the artisan collection - apple/melon/pineapple. The appple fragrance is gorgeous. VFM on QVC for YC is brilliant, when you consider they are £20 each in the shops. Scented candle shop/yankee direct do have some good deals on as well.

i think the only time they do a large jar TSV is at the start of the year as an AD of new scents
 
So since I last posted I thought I'd better check what I have in the way of Christmas items before the TSV. Glad I did because on top of the votives I also have a pack of 2 x Medium jars that I left unopened for this year and 3 x packs of tealights. So for Christmas I only need wax tarts so am going to rry and not even look at the TSV!
 
so its candles then, yeah? big ones , small ones .... clue'seys please?? I reckon it will be like last year and it will be one of the boxes like a book with loads of samplers in. yes or no?? :eek:))

Our reactions are so different, aren't they? I usually find the cherry fragrances are quite weak but absolutely loved last year's Cherries on Snow! I have to say, though, that my all-time favourite Christmas scents were Cranberry Peppermint and Christmas Wish, both of which, for some reason reminded me very much of early winter holidays in New England.
