I've really struggled reading this thread - started it yesterday and had to leave it - having lost both my Mum & Dad to the ******* disease that is cancer.

Thank you to everyone who has posted inspirational stories on this thread, and I wish you all the very best for your future health and happiness. As I do to Amica.

oh amica, i too will be praying for you, just said a prayer for you now.
chin up, and FIGHT with fortitude and courage.
cancer hates you to be 'gutsy'.
i too had endometrial cancer, and had TAH, BSO in sepember 2011 and one cycle radiotherapy in december 2011 to prevent recurrence.
i am 'tough' on this bugger.
i feel well, eat and live happily in prayers and with family.

you too will be alright!! you MUST and will beat this.

what sad news amica was always one of my favourite models sending lots of love and best wishes and hoping everything turns out ok :(

I had no idea that Amica was battling cancer, poor woman. I wish her all the very best, she's such a beautiful, graceful lady.

This thread is so full of saddness and inspiration, they are very touching. I doubt there is anyone who hasn`t been touched by that dreadful disease in some way. Sending big (((hugs))) and best wishes to everyone who has been through the life changing challenges it brings. I do hope Amica is able to read the inspirational ones as I`m sure they will help her
Wishing Amica and her family all the best for the coming year . xxx

My Dad is a lucky cancer surviour. Dad is so inoffensive but when he was going to see his GP and they said it was just infection. Dad said I know something is wrong with me after a number of months of passing large blood clots. The GP refered him to a Specialist (Dad never went to see GP only when this was happening for a number of months). Anyway Dad was found to have cancer and he has been battling with it for 22 years and he is still here thank god. If he hadn't insisted on going to Hospital the cancer wood have killed him. We said your not going back to that GP, we found him a new GP who is absolutely fantastic! Dad also has had a heart attack, a burst appendix and is a diabetic and he looks marvellous for his age and better than us truthfully. No one can believe what he's gone through, as he looks that well in himself. Which we are delighted with. Good Luck Amica you can beat this evil beast known as cancer!

I read on Twitter that Amica was at the Beauty Bash yesterday, so hopefully she's doing well.

What terribly sad news.We can only hope and send our love to Amica and her family at a very difficult time.

I noticed no-one had mentioned this, so thought I should - on yesterday's beauty hour at 3pm with Ali Young, Ali mentioned that Amica was starting back at work this month and would be in and around the building (but not on air). Apparently her aim is to be back on air, modelling next month - I hope this is true and that she is getting better and stronger every day.

Both Alison and Amica are both very strong ladies, though from experience I'm sure that's not all the time in private, I do admire their strength having their illness so public.
It was worrying to hear Amica was to have further treatment I do hope this recent news, makes things are more positive for her.

Wishing both lovely ladies and others in the same situation all the very best.

Take care
Bags x

It would be lovely to see Amica back after all this. Just hope she paces herself and doesn't do too much, too soon. It's tempting I know and I couldn't manage at work after going back so got early ill-health retirement and found this forum to keep me amused!!!!

Wishing both her and Ali a much better year and improved health.

It'll be fab to see Amica back on air. I hope she is able to come back soon. Ali K seems to be coping brilliantly and she looks fabulous. She seems to have a real zest for life.

Such good news. Thanks for posting BarbedWire.

Really pleased to hear this about Amica, hope to see her back on air very soon and wishing all the best for her family, especially her young daughters :hi:

I bet she looks fantastic - hope lizgregs doesn't mind me saying but she sends me photos of her and her friends from the BCC forum when they meet up for their Ladies Wot Lunch sessions and they all look bliddy marvellous: skin glowing, hair (real or not) is immaculate, outfits always stylish and perfectly accessorised. I keep thinking of this when I see Ali K on air too - is there some unwritten rule that when you've been through this awful illness you develop the ability to permanently look totally and utterly fabulous? :clapping:

I think Amica made an appearance at the Beauty Bash according to JR's blog.........

The day was made extra special for me with the arrival of an unexpected guest. Our beautiful (inside and out) model Amica, who has been battling breast cancer, sprung a surprise on us. I can only imagine how she must have felt before coming into the hall so thank goodness she had her friend and fellow QVC model Beth with her for support.

It was tears and hugs all round and I can truthfully say it puts any problems I may have into perspective, watching the composed manner in which she is coping with what life has dealt her. The next step is to get her back modelling on QVC.
