well, so much for a demo. couple minutes and it's sold out. looks like the ipad is always gonna be a mystery for me.....

Sorry to divert a bit, but this thread seems to have lots of techies on it.

I've just bought a Kindle and am loading some free books to try it.

There are 100's of pages of these in the Amazon store, so I ploughed through pages 1 to 20 yesterday.

Today I tried to start from page 21, but it seems I have to plough through from the beginning again, clicking next, next, next x 20 which takes ages on my slow connection.

Does anyone know how I can get to page 21 (or even 1001 for that matter) quicker?

Don't think there is any way of starting part way through.

i'm so disappointed by this hour. i thought i might finally 'get with it' and learn something about ipads and ipods. i'm none the wiser. lee is flicking the screen and not saying what he's doing and the only thing dale is saying over and over is advanced orders, time for xmas blah blah blah. i still don't even know if the ipod media thing is an ipod or some extra thing.

the rest has sold out before they even got to it. what a total waste of time.

Just looked on Currys page and the ipod Touch 8gig is £149.99 and the ipod Nano 8gig selling for £105.

Thanks Wrongsideof40. Glad you found it of help! All they did with the iPad on la Q was oooh and ahhhh over it, show a video of the public doing the same and then tell you that you can download apps and that was it. Hardly a demonstration in my book

exactly!! pratts

Oh and the "hour" has finished 30 minutes early. They could have carried on the demos because I am assuming QVC still want to present further Apple hours in future?

you must be kidding - it seems policy to pretend an item doesn't exist once it's sold out. they practically rip their clothes off when it happens in a fashion hour (although gawd knows why that would ever happen). i've watched kirks folly when stuff has sold out on preview and jenniefer has had to beg to show it for a second or two. as she says - 'i want to show them what they bought!'

i knew they wouldnt have much stock as ive always seen it billed as featuring apple but with all the quick sells outs means they might get more stock as there is quite a few extras on the website they never had chance to show

This thread has been a lot more interesting and entertaining than that quick bite of the Apple! Blink and it was over as far as the iPad was concerned, but interesting to hear that v.3 is on the horizon.

I think the show was probably a show to prove to Apple that they could sell large quantities of the product in future.
As they sold out so quickly i can see QVC having more Apple hours in the New Year.

As already stated, it's a pity we didn't get an Apple Employee to demonstrate - Lee Holbein is my least favorite presenter.
He usually fronts shows for Acer and the backup drive.
He product knowledge of Apple was very poor and amateurish - but i am an Apple user of 12+ years!

I agree with you simon. QVC need to get an Apple specialist in to demonstrate all the features that makes them justify the price premium they put on their products that would persuade me to buy Apple rather than a PC.

Lee was always touted as a PC man/expert and always represented Acer and the back up drives, but on the Apple show he was an Apple expert???????

You are either one or the other!

QVC stop this please - if you are going to have an expert on make sure they are experts not out of work actors or sales people!
